What is SME (Small and Medium Enterprise)
Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) is a category of companies specified by the number of employees and revenues.

Small and Medium Enterprise, usually the abbreviation SME is used. Sometimes the abbreviation SMB (SMBs) for Small and Medium Businesses is used. This is a category of companies specified by the number of employees and revenues. Conditions in each country differ, so in each state the category of SMEs include different companies.

SME in practice: In the European Union, the category of SMEs companies are described as: from 10 to 250 employees with revenues (turnover) between 10 and 50 million €. In most states in the U.S. the category of SME companies are described as having a size of up to 500 employees.
