Role profiles are an approach to work organizing that tries to overcome the limitations given by traditional and slightly rigid work content analysis. The aim is to bring to work organizing the flexibility and freedom to allow workers to make their own decisions (Armstrong, 2007).

Use of the role profiles in practice: Role profiles creation focuses on the definition of appropriate types of behavior for the performance of the job and on the description of desired results. Accurate inventories of specific tasks are not desirable when profiling.
