Python was created in 1991 by Guido van Rossum, based on the ABC programming language.

Python in practice: Python is suitable for rapid creation of simple applications, but also complex and large projects. It is often used for writing Web applications. Python is available for all major operating systems: Windows, Linux / Unix, OS / 2, Mac, Amiga. Python is used for example by Google, Yahoo!, Red Hat Linux or NASA.
