Public services is a term that refers to the individual outputs of the public sector. Public services are those services that are financed from public funds. Public services are provided by the state in favor of the citizens who pay indirectly through taxes. The state may delegate the provision of public services to another state entity (e.g. city) or a specific organization (such as a public services in air, road and rail transport or public services in health care, social or energy area, at both national and regional level.
Public services can be distinguished into:
- Subject public services (their subject is to provide a benefit to citizens, such as health services, social services, transport services, etc.)
- Administrative public services (their subject is defence, public order and national security and life regulation in society)
Use of the public services in practice: Public services are used to title the outputs of public services providers. Public services may also serve to assess the level of quality that should the state provide to its citizens mandatorily - in this case, the public services can be described by the catalog of public services.
