Project Portfolio Management (Portfolio Management in Project Management) is a management field that deals with the management of the portfolio of projects, thus management and coordination of multiple projects, programs in the organization, or it is going across multiple entities in order to achieve strategic objectives.
Project Portfolio Management in practice: It is a centralized way to manage and coordinate all project activities, i.e. all activities that delivers in a controlled way a change into the organization. The main objective and subject of project portfolio management is primarily to maintain compliance of entire portfolio with strategic goals. It is therefore necessary the projects, programs, objectives to correctly identify, prioritize, record, continuously maintain and manage their mutual ties to the responsible persons or organizational units.
Portfolio Manager is the responsible person.
