IPMA Project Manager Certification is a process focused on the competence assessment of the candidates to manage projects, programs and portfolios. The competence is the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills in project management in the context. The certification is a verification of such eligibility.
Certification program IPMA distinguishes four certification levels (source IPMA):
- A - IPMA Level A, Certified Projects Director - is able to manage significant portfolio or program with adequate resources, methodologies and tools
- B - IPMA Level B, Certified Senior Project Manager - is able comprehensively manage projects (complexity criteria - see self-evaluation test of project management)
- C - IPMA Level C, Certified Project Manager - is able to managed projects with limited complexity of project management
- D - IPMA Level D - Certified Project Management Associate - is able to apply knowledge from project management as a project team member
