Principle of Strategy → Structure

Alfred D. Chandler published in 1962 a book “Strategy and Structure” in which he showed on the examples from practice that the structure of the organization follows its strategy - the principle of strategy → structure.

According to this principle, an organization must first formulate its corporate strategy, and only on this basis to propose suitable formal organizational structure for its implementation.
