Outbound marketing is a traditional form of marketing that attracts customers through ads and other outbound communication.

How does outbound marketing work in practice?

The goal is to get the customer’s attention through traditional forms of advertising, i.e. outbound ad communications. The forms of outbound marketing are for example:

  • Internet advertising (banner advertising, PPC advertising, emails, etc.)
  • TV advertising
  • print advertising (leaflets, ads in printed media, brochures, catalogs, etc.)
  • large-scale advertisement (posters, billboards, etc.)
  • promotional items

Outbound marketing focuses primarily on building and raising brand awareness or attracting the potential customers attention to a product or brand. It can either be targeted to specific customer segments, or aimed at a large number of people, the mass. Its opposite is Inbound marketing, which aims to bring customers by means of interesting contents.
