MOST Analysis (sometimes M.O.S.T.) is an analytical technique used in strategic planning and strategy development. The essence of MOST analysis is to perform individual steps of strategic planning in the following order. First, the mission of the organization is defined, then its objectives, strategies, and finally tactics.
MOST is an acronym from the words:
- M - Mission
- O - Objectives
- S - Strategy
- T - Tactics
Use of the MOST analysis in practice: MOST analysis is used in the process of creating strategies both from the top to bottom (MOST), or from the bottom to the top (TSOM). The analysis helps set realistic goals and compliance with the mission of the organization.
