Multidimensional Management and Development of Information Systems, usually the abbreviation MMDIS is used.
MMDIS is the methodology of strategic information systems management, which has been developed since 1990 at the Department of Information Technologies of the University of Economics in Prague. The basic principle of this methodology is to to take into account, while designing information system, all factors (dimensions) that affect the design, the implementation, the usage, and further development of the IS/ICT.
The basic dimensions of the MMDIS:
- Functions/processes (PRO)
- Data/information (INF)
- Organizational and legislative aspects (ORG)
- Labor, social and technical aspects – aspects of human resources (LAB)
- Software (SW)
- Hardware (HW)
- User Interface (UI)
- Safety (BE)
- Economic and financial aspects (ECO)
This methodology can be used either for development of the new elements of the information system or for development of already existing information system.
