“A manager is responsible for the application and performance of knowledge.”
Knowledge is a term that refers to one type of resources, respectively, inputs into the production process.
Ikujiro Nonaka and Hirotaka Takeuchi have created the following classification of knowledge, which is one of the most common:
- Explicit knowledge - can be expressed in a formal language, it is easily transmitted to others, easily processed through information and communication technologies and it is stored in databases (roughly it can be identified with organizational capital)
- Tacit knowledge - personal knowledge covered in an individual experience, including intangible factors such as personal beliefs, views and value systems, it is difficult to be expressed by formal language (difficult does not mean it cannot be expressed), before they are expressed, must be translated into words , models and numbers (roughly it can be identified with human capital and partly with social capital)
Management field focused on knowledge is knowledge management.
