Kaoru Ishikawa
Kaoru Ishikawa was born on the 13th July 1915 in Tokyo, Japan and died on the 16th April 1989 in Japan. In 1939 he received the title of engineer in Applied Chemistry at the University of Tokyo. Briefly served as a technical officer in the Navy.
He then worked in the Nissan Liquid Fuel Company until 1947. Subsequently, he worked as a professor at his alma mater Tokyo University.
In 1949, he joined the Japanese Union of scientists and engineers (JUSE).
He is the author of the following management methods and analytical techniques:
- Ishikawa Diagram (1982)
- Quality Circles (1962 - in cooperation with JUSE)
