What is Internet Protocol (IP)
Internet Protocol (IP) is the most common protocol for communication in computer networks and in the global Internet network.

Internet Protocol, usually the abbreviation IP is used. It is the most common protocol for communication in computer networks and in the global Internet network. It is a set of rules describing data transfer over the network. It works at the network layer, which is the third from seven layers according to the ISO/OSI reference model and one of the four layers in the TCP/IP architecture.

Currently, IPv4 is the most widely used version of this protocol, which uses 32-bit addresses and provides about 4 billion addresses. Due to the running out of available addresses, the use of IPv6 is expanding, which uses 128-bit addresses and provides about 340 sextillion addresses.

Use of Internet Protocol in practice: Knowledge of Internet Protocol is particularly important for professionals in informatics, other managers and staff meet with IP in the form of the IP address (e.g. http://192.168.1.1.), which is used to distinguish the devices connected to the computer network. Otherwise, they don’t usually come with the Internet Protocol itself into contact.
