Fundraising is a process or a continuous activity, resulting in the collection and retrieval of contributions and financial resources.

Fundraising in practice: Fundraising can have a form of an application for a voluntary contribution on the street or at the doors of houselholds ( houses and flats), addressing corporate sponsors, foundations, philanthropists and public authorities. It also includes obtaining funds from benefit events, or searching offered grants or the use of subsidies. In recent years, there is a greater use of theinternet for fundraising, i.e. different instruments to collect voluntary contribution by taking advantage of the Internet (so called online fundraising). The fundraising is most commonly used by non-profit non-governmental organizations, charitable organizations, schools, social service facilities or hospitals. NGOs receive on average 50% of their financial resources with fundraising.
