He is a manager and at the same time an expert who must combine knowledge from different fields - technical, procedural, economic, environmental, psychological and ethical. He involves the principles of business administration, architecture, humanistic and technical sciences.

Job desription of Facility manager

Job description of facility manager is to harmonize the work environment in the organization at all stages - he defines the concept and strategy, measures the quality of the environment, analyzes, processes improvement plans, managers, monitors the achieved improvement, and promotes workers’ demands to improve the ergonomics of work environment. His responsibility is to manage the most efficient support processes in the organization so that the optimal level of processes given to their costs would be set. His responsibilities include property management, infrastructure, operational costs reduction, increased efficiency of staff (technicians, maintenance workers, cleaning) as well as employee satisfaction in the workplace. Facility manager guarantees the faultless operation of supporting activities in the organization.

IFMA (International Facility Management Association) defines 3 levels of certification of facility manager:

  • FMP (Facility Management Professional®)
  • SFP (Sustainability Facility Professional™)
  • CFM (Certified Facility Manager®)
