Edward Lee Thorndike
Edward Lee Thorndike was born on 31st August 1874 in Williamsburg, Massachusetts, USA and died on 9th August 1949 in Montrose, New York. He received his Bachelor’s degree at Wesleyan University in 1895, Master’s degree at Harvard University in 1897, and doctorate at Columbia University in 1898.
He was a professor of psychology at Teachers College at Columbia University. He developed his own theory of intelligence, which was among the first to distinguish and define social intelligence.
He was a member of the board of the Psychological Corporation, and served as president of the American Psychological Association in 1912.
