What is Dividend
Dividend is a term which refers to money paid by the issuer (a joint stock company) into the hands of shareholders. The dividend is essentially a profit-sharing that the joint stock company created.

The dividend is payable according to the governing day of their possession and it is usually paid from profits for last year. It may be paid from the retained profits from previous years.

The General Assembly / Annual general meeting decides about the dividend payment.
