Development cycle of process-driven organization is a concept describing the mechanism of gradual improvement of organizational processes. Its author is Thomas H. Davenport. Process improvement is interpreted as a cyclical issue. During one period of the cycle there are two phases:
- Evolutionary phase - includes the steps of slow continuous process improvement of the organization
- Revolutionary phase - involves rapid radical change in organizational processes
After a radical change of processes, the quality settlement of changed processes, occur for a while. Evolutionary stage corresponds to the methods such as Kaizen. The corresponding management method is reengineering processes.
Disruptive technologies (disruptive innovation) may be the reason for radical changes.
