Cyberbullying is a kind of bullying that takes place over the telephone, computer and the Internet. Its aim is to humiliate someone, to hurt, intimidate, harass or threaten anyone. The cyberbullying is primarily about psychic harm (not physical).

What is typical for cyberbullying?

  • Attackers tend to be anonymous, act under false identity (aliases, fake or changing phone numbers or email addresses)
  • Attacks can take place at any time and from anywhere
  • Cyberbullying can often turn into a blackmailing

What are the signs of cyberbullying?

Traditional bullying and cyberbullying can mingle with each other. Its aim is to either ridicule, dishonor or humiliation of the front of others (colleagues, classmates, acquaintances), or threatening or offensive behavior that leads to intimidation (eg sending SMS at night).

  • Ridicule tha lack of education (eg computer literacy) in front of others
  • Video recording or photographing in unpleasant situations and then sharing or distribution of these recordings
  • Sending out compromising or sensitive materials to acquaintances, colleagues or others
  • Creating of compromising or humiliating websites
  • Posting of humiliating or unpleasant blogs or posts on social networks
  • Sending offensive SMS messages
  • Sending offensive e-mails
