What is BaaS (Backup as a Service)
Backup as a Service (BaaS) is ensuring the comprehensive process of backing up and restoring data in any infrastructure of the provider.

Backup as a Service, usually the abbreviation BaaS is used. It sometimes refers to Remote Backup or Cloud Backup. Backup as a Service is ensuring the comprehensive process of backing up and restoring data in any infrastructure of the provider.

BaaS in practice: Baas is a backup method that is an alternative to conventional local backup and is run by the provider via the Internet. Backup is stored at the provider (often in the Cloud). The advantage of the BaaS is a different location of the backup than the local backup, which in the event of a disaster reduces the risk of data loss. The disadvantage may be the need for adequate Internet access, because Baas requires considerable data flow. Like other XaaS approaches, BaaS is provided on a contract basis, including the definition of SLA.
