ACCEL model is an educational model for interactive distance learning supported by information technology. The author is Judith V. Boettcher. ACCEL model is based on five basic pillars.
- Activity - require students to make thoughtful and proactive approach
- Co-operation - a cooperative approach during the learning
- Conformity - adaptability, accessibility, customization of requirements, needs and abilities of students
- Entrance - access, affordability and quality of the access to the information resources
- Life styles - adaptability to the lifestyle of the students, their time and budget, independent of time and place
