Functional Organizational Structure

Functional organizational structure is one of the types of the formal organizational structure. The basis of this structure is an arrangement where a worker has different managers for different areas of the organization operation (see figure).

The problem of this structure is the situation known as the “martyr stake” in which the worker receives from different superiors different commands.
